Learn more about Community Involvement

Obishikokaang Resources works hard to stay involved with the communities that make up the Lac Seul First Nation. We manage the forest on your behalf and we work closely with Chief and Council to continue to look for ways to involve and support the community.

Some of our recent initiatives include:

  • Community Forestry Training and Information Sessions
  • Forestry Tours for Band Members
  • Open Houses for the Annual Work Schedule and
  • Silviculture Programs
  • Summer Student employment program
  • Forestry Experience Program
  • Obishikokaang Resources also supports a number of important community initiatives such as the Lac Seul Minor Hockey Association and the Lac Seul
  • Annual Ice Fishing Derby.

Chief and Council have arranged for the supply of birch firewood to each of the three communities of the Lac Seul First Nation.

A Message From Our Coordinator

“Please say hello if you see me out and about, and know that I am always available to listen and willing to try my hardest to help find a solution to your concerns about the Lac Seul Forest. Together we can learn about our forest and how Obishikokaang Resources is taking care of our forests.”
